Senior Reliability Engineer (Remote)

ASI is seeking Senior Reliability Engineers to join our Reliability, Maintainability and Sustainability (RM&S) team to support a project in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area. This position requires a self-starter attitude with strong communication skills. The majority of time will be spent working in a team environment interfacing directly with Integrated Product Teams. These positions can be either performed on-site in Dallas or remote.
Responsibilities:
- Estimate system reliability and identify, prioritize, and eliminate potential system design failures through Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA)
- Formulate reliability analyses and predictions using Relyence software (NPRD)
- Plan and execute Reliability Growth Testing, Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS)
- Understand and measure fault detection and fault isolation through testability assessments
- Formulate Maintainability analysis and predictions
- Collect, analyze, and score Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) data. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Engineering Investigations (EI), and Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for failed aircraft components
- May travel domestically up to 10% of the time
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
- At least 15 years of aviation experience, preferably a Department of Defense program, reliability/product support/sustainment experience including, but not limited to:
- Failure reporting and corrective actions
- Reliability and maintainability improvements
- Engineering investigations and/or mishap investigations
- Aircraft modifications
- Flight line support
- Corrective actions for aircraft
- Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217 and Nonelectronic Parts Reliability Data Publications
- Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-470 and MIL-HDBK-472
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft 365 to include, Project, Office, SharePoint, and Teams
- Strong written and verbal skills to concisely and effectively communicate to management and customers
- Ability to work on a team to improve product reliability and maintainability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with
- Conducting engineering investigations with suppliers and customers and participation in Reliability Review scoring boards
- Using Cameo/ No Magic/ MagicDraw
- Formulating reliability analyses and predictions (including development of failure rate estimates based on handbook techniques and historical data,) preferably using Relyence software
- Performing testability assessments including Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), fault detection, and fault isolation
- Performing reliability analyses (de-rating/stress analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, reliability predictions) as applicable
- Developing & interpreting Reliability requirements / flow-down requirements
- Performing Failure Mode, Effects, & Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Collaborating on the development of technical solutions to complex reliability problems through active management of the Failure Reporting and Corrective Action (FRACA) system
- Participating in Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings to discuss details of failures and failure trending
- Interfacing with external suppliers to review and support reliability analysis
- Familiarity and/or experience with reliability test plans, R&M program plans, Statements of Work (SOW), and product specification preparation
- Proficient in the review of flight logs, quality records, manufacturing records, and engineering drawings including the use of CAD software, preferably CATIA
- Familiarity with military specifications/standards
- Knowledge of rotary aircraft systems/sub-systems to include troubleshooting techniques, reliability/maintainability issues and assessment of maintenance removal times
- Working knowledge in a related discipline (Avionics, Propulsion, Hydraulics, etc.)
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and qualify for Secret Clearance
